Teen Responsible For 9 Smash-And-Grab Fairfax County Burglaries: Police

Authorities in Fairfax County say a teenager is behind a slew of smash-and-grab burglaries over the past several weeks. And investigators caught him thanks to a keen-eyed employee, police noted.

Juan Mancia Ramirez, 19, of Annandale, faces several burglary, destruction of property, and theft charges stemming from nine break-ins in Fairfax County that began last month, Fairfax County police said. 

Investigators said Mancia Ramirez smashed in the glass doors to the businesses, climbed through and stole cash, and then pedaled away on his bicycle. Police released a list of break-ins they are blaming on him.

  • June 14, Annandale Dollars & Gift Store on Maple Avenue

On Wednesday, June 15, an employee at one of these businesses called the police after they noticed a customer who looked similar to the burglar they saw on a security video, an incident report. Police rushed to that business and arrested Mancia Ramirez.  

Authorities are holding Mancia Ramirez at the Adult Detention Center without bond, officials said.
